About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team at Houle Electric Limited. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for the administration of our payroll function, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of payroll and related client services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for union and hourly employees in JDE EnterpriseOne
  • Review union contracts for payroll effects and implementation
  • Collect, enter, and verify time sheets
  • Handle reporting and remitting regulatory payments, including CRA, WCB, and union dues
  • Reconcile year-end payroll records and prepare T4s
  • Prepare termination payments and Records of Employment
  • Prepare payroll journals and accruals
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of solid payroll experience
  • Exceptional knowledge of payroll and accounting practices and principles
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience using an ERP system, with JDE experience an asset
  • Experience in a union environment an asset
  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced and high-volume environment
  • Superior teamwork skills complemented by the ability to work independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to problem-solve
