Position: Instructor in Childhood Arts and Aesthetic Expression

This position invites applications from qualified candidates to teach CHYS 4P05: Childhood, Art, and Aesthetic Expression. The successful candidate will contribute to our vibrant academic community by delivering engaging lectures, facilitating insightful discussions, and mentoring students.

Responsibilities:
  • Delivering high-quality instruction in accordance with the course syllabus and university standards.
  • Creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and active participation.
  • Providing constructive feedback on student work, fostering their academic growth and development.
  • Engaging in scholarly activities, such as research and publication, to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
Qualifications:
  • A PhD in Child and Youth Studies or a closely related discipline (e.g., art/aesthetics, sound studies, cultural studies, Equity Studies).
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching critical approaches to aesthetics, culture, and theory.
  • Prior experience in teaching and/or research related to the study of childhood arts (including film, literature, sound/music, visual arts) as a multifaceted social, sensory, cultural, historical, and political phenomenon.
  • Evidence of effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level, supported by letters of reference and course evaluations.
