About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wellness Representative to join our team at WCB Alberta. As a key member of our Corporate Wellness team, you will play a vital role in promoting employee wellbeing and reducing the risk of workplace injuries and illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and provide recommendations to employees to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs and early intervention strategies to support employees in managing their health and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with employees, managers, and other stakeholders to design and deliver health promotion initiatives and activities.
  • Provide education and training on workplace health and safety, ergonomics, and injury prevention to employees and managers.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of our Injury Prevention Program, including the design and implementation of primary prevention programs and activities.
  • Monitor and report on program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Participate in the oversight of our Fitness Center to ensure a safe and healthy environment for employees.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Kinesiology, Health Promotion, or a related field, and two years of experience in the health and/or rehabilitation industry or health promotion.
  • Experience or knowledge of office ergonomics or kinesiology is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety training regulations, including standard first aid, AED, and CPR is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Salary: $51,649 to $57,402 per annum (Pay Grade 6)

This is a temporary, full-time position for approximately one year with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. Final candidates for this position will be asked to undergo a security clearance.
