Position Overview

The Internal Account Manager plays a pivotal role in fostering client relationships through effective communication via phone and email. Your primary focus will be to deliver outstanding customer service, driving sales performance, achieving or surpassing sales and profit objectives, enhancing customer loyalty, and establishing enduring partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process orders and transform quotes into confirmed orders through proactive customer engagement, especially via phone.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with key clients, ensuring their requirements are consistently met.
  • Leverage interpersonal skills to deepen connections with existing clients and expand market presence.
  • Act as a project coordinator for significant initiatives, meticulously documenting timelines and keeping clients informed of any changes.
  • Identify and cultivate new client relationships through targeted outreach efforts.
  • Meet or exceed sales and gross profit targets for the designated profit center.
  • Assist with in-person sales during peak periods, actively engaging with customers to drive business.
  • Address customer concerns regarding pricing discrepancies and product returns, providing effective resolutions.
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding the delivery of customer orders as necessary.
  • Follow up with clients on outstanding quotes and orders to ensure timely processing.
  • Support external sales teams and counter staff with order management and customer inquiries.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the profit center by participating in various team activities.
  • Report any changes in a client’s business that may affect credit risk to the Profit Center Manager and Credit Department.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Profit Center Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Degree from a college or university.
  • At least one year of experience in customer service or internal sales; entrepreneurial experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional skills in customer service and telephone communication.
  • Ability to identify new business opportunities and enhance sales with current clients.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; capable of multitasking and meeting various deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Skilled in understanding customer needs, providing cost-effective solutions, and closing sales.
  • Capability to learn and effectively use relevant software for order processing.
  • Basic mathematical proficiency.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience or knowledge of plumbing and construction materials.
  • Familiarity with Trend and Eclipse software.
