Financial Operations Analyst Role

The Government of British Columbia is seeking a dedicated Financial Operations Analyst to join our team. This position is integral to the BC Timber Sales (BCTS) program, which is part of the Ministry of Forests, responsible for planning, developing, and auctioning a substantial portion of the province's annual timber volume.

BCTS functions as a profit-driven entity, emphasizing safety within the forest sector, fostering reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, and promoting sustainable forest management practices.

The Financial Operations Analyst will play a crucial role in delivering financial and performance frameworks that support business operations and provide insights into business plan outcomes. Key responsibilities encompass:

  • Evaluating operational alternatives to enhance efficiency.
  • Offering financial guidance to inform decision-making.
  • Facilitating comprehensive business improvement assessments.

The ideal candidate will possess a post-secondary degree in accounting, business, or finance, complemented by a minimum of five years of relevant experience. A combination of education and experience may also be taken into account.

This role provides flexible working arrangements, including the option to work remotely for up to two days a week, subject to an approved telework agreement.
