We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Analyst to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing payments for vendors and receivables from customers for FortisBC Alternative Energy Services Inc. (FAES).
Key Responsibilities- Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis of operational activities to assist FAES in achieving operational growth and excellence.
- Payment and Receivable Management: Manage payments for vendors and receivables from customers for FAES.
- Financial Reporting: Provide capital and operating accrual recommendations at month-end with evidence to support justification.
- Financial Data Analysis: Contribute meaningful analysis on timesheets, cost centres, spending on capital and other trends identified.
- Customer and BCUC Support: Be a primary resource in providing supplemental information for customer and British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) questions, leveraging operational and financial data.
- Financial Record Management: Proactively flag irregularities in financial records and help substantiate movements in accounts for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to FAES management and Board of Directors.
- Education: Diploma in accounting or a related discipline.
- Experience: Three years of relevant work experience.
- Skills: Demonstrated ability to perform analysis using various features in Excel, experience in monitoring multiple cost centres and assets ledgers, exceptional communication and attention to detail.
