Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, providing nursing services to patients in their private residences. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications and ensure infection control
  • Take vital signs and monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy
  • Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
  • Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
  • Administer first aid in emergency situations and monitor recreational, sports or fitness activities to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required
  • Ensure hygiene and sanitation practices conform to policies and regulations
  • Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities
Requirements:
  • Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work
  • CPR Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Criminal record check
  • Immunization records
  • Vulnerable sector check
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Own vehicle
