Overview
The Kativik Municipal Housing Bureau (KMHB) is dedicated to providing safe, comfortable, and affordable housing that respects Inuit culture and needs. Our commitment extends to fostering vibrant and sustainable communities through our various programs and services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the guidance of the Inventory Coordinator, the Inventory Clerk is responsible for managing organizational and transactional tasks related to materials, equipment, and storage, while also serving as an internal auditor for inventory and equipment management across all communities.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and upkeep of storage areas and outdoor spaces in accordance with the designated layout plan;
- Implement location tagging within all material and equipment storage facilities;
- Code and rotate materials and equipment effectively;
- Oversee the receiving and shipping of goods between communities and from suppliers;
- Accurately enter all inventory transactions into the inventory management system;
- Communicate inventory transactions to community staff and monitor their progress;
- Notify the Procurement Officer of any incomplete requisitions;
- Prepare documentation for inventory transfers to third parties for invoicing;
- Adhere to laws, regulations, and procedures concerning hazardous materials management and workplace safety;
- Conduct regular inventory counts of materials and equipment based on the established sampling plan;
- Make necessary inventory adjustments in the management system;
- Perform the annual inventory of materials and equipment and report findings to the Inventory Coordinator;
- Validate merchandise received from sea and air shipments in all communities according to the established sampling plan;
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues in maintenance, procurement, and community departments;
- Undertake any additional duties as assigned by the Inventory Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience / Knowledge
- High school diploma;
- Forklift operator's license (preferred);
- 1 to 2 years of experience in inventory management (preferred);
- Familiarity with the WHMIS system (an asset);
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;
- Valid territorial driver's license;
- Ability to communicate fluently in two of the three languages (English, French, and Inuktitut).

- Strong organizational skills;
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively;
- Recognized for teamwork and open-mindedness;
- Willingness to travel to various communities;
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds;
- Work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings.
COMPENSATION / BENEFITS
The KMHB offers a competitive salary, benefits, and favorable working conditions. The starting salary is $ 24.43, with potential for higher compensation based on relevant experience.
