People & Culture Coordinator - HR Generalist

The Alberta Construction Safety Association is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Coordinator, People & Culture to join our team. This role plays a vital part in supporting the department and our organization by coordinating various HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, compliance, culture initiatives, and payroll & benefit administration backup support.
Key Responsibilities- Employee Engagement: Contribute to a positive work culture by supporting employee engagement initiatives, serving as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, and maintaining a harmonious work environment.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Promote diversity and inclusion initiatives within the organization, actively influencing a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Perform the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, applicant screening, scheduling interviews, background & reference checks, offer letters, and onboarding.
- Payroll and Benefits Administration: Serve as the backup for payroll & benefit administration, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries, ensuring that payroll is administered accurately and timely.
- HR Policy and Procedure Development: Assist in the improvement, creation, and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs to ensure they align with provincial regulations, promoting consistency and fairness across the organization.
- Education: Post-secondary degree, diploma, and/or certificate in Human Resources or a related field.
- Experience: 2 – 3 years of related experience, including 1+ years of payroll experience.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong sense of discretion and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately, effective collaboration with various stakeholders, ability to work independently, creative thinking and problem-solving, and effective task management.
- Daily work hours are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
- This position is eligible for a hybrid work model (ACSA Edmonton office).
Starting salary: $58,442+
