Canadian French Linguistic Quality Assurance Manager

The Canadian French Linguistic Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for upholding the standards of Canadian French translations, coordinating linguistic initiatives, and supervising the quality control process. This position involves ensuring that translation partners adhere to the necessary quality benchmarks utilizing the Multidimensional Quality Metrics (MQM) framework and the Amazon Translation Management System (ATMS). The manager is also tasked with updating linguistic resources such as glossaries and style guides, while striving for continuous enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Orientation: Recognize and prioritize client needs to steer the Localization Quality Program effectively.
  • Feedback Coordination: Manage feedback from team members regarding translated materials.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain the quality and relevance of Translation Memories to boost translation efficiency.
  • Quality Metrics Evaluation: Assess quality metrics and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Ongoing Improvement: Establish best practices across various languages and projects for sustainable advancement.
  • Expertise in Subject Matter: Remain informed about developments in linguistics and translation technologies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years in language management or translation, with an emphasis on localization.
  • At least 5 years as an editor or reviewer, focusing on the enhancement of localized content and terminology management.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Languages or Translation.
  • Language Proficiency: Native-level fluency in Canadian French and advanced proficiency in English.
  • Technical Acumen: Familiarity with IT cloud infrastructure.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of public sector operations and legal frameworks.
  • Language Quality Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of language quality standards and translation tools.
