Job Summary

The Regional Supervisor, Child and Family Services is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the delivery of child and family services in the Northwest Territories. This role requires a strong understanding of social work principles and practices, as well as excellent leadership and management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of Family and Community Social Workers in Inuvik, Fort Smith, and Norman Wells
  • Provide guidance and support to social workers on a regular basis, including after-hours supervision
  • Act as a liaison between the Regional Manager, Child and Family Services and other stakeholders, including community members, partners, and colleagues
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to child and family services
  • Collaborate with other regions and authorities to provide services and support to families and children
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in social work and three years of related work experience, with at least one year of direct supervisory experience
  • Diploma in social work and five years of directly related work experience, with at least two years of direct supervisory experience
  • Completion of a Master in Social Work is an asset
  • Must meet the GNWT Professional Registered Social Worker Requirement
  • Must be eligible for appointment as a Child Protection Worker

  • Competitive salary range of $53.80 per hour to $64.26 per hour (approximately $104,910 - $125,307) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $14,661
