Job Summary

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Supervisor, Child and Family Services to join our team. As a key member of our Child and Family Services department, you will be responsible for supervising a team of Family and Community Social Workers and providing leadership and guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of Family and Community Social Workers and provide guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of services.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team to ensure the achievement of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities to team members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social work and three (3) years of related work experience, with at least one (1) year of direct supervisory experience, OR
  • A diploma in social work and five (5) years directly related work experience with at least two (2) years of direct supervisory experience.
  • Completion of a Master in Social Work would be an asset.
  • Must meet the GNWT Professional Registered Social Worker Requirement.
  • Must be eligible for appointment as a Child Protection Worker.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a high level of autonomy and independence. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • A competitive salary range of $53.80 per hour to $64.26 per hour (approximately $104,910 - $125,307) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $14,661.
