Job Summary:

The City of Lethbridge is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Communications Specialist to join our Public Safety Communications Centre (PSCC) team. As an Emergency Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for processing and dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls, providing assistance and instruction to callers, and utilizing computer-aided dispatch systems and other software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls for police and fire services
  • Provide assistance and instruction to callers using established procedures and protocols
  • Utilize computer-aided dispatch systems and other software to manage calls and respond to emergencies
  • Perform general support duties related to the 24-hour operations of the PSCC

Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute
  • Working knowledge of Hexagon CAD systems and IAED Protocol Software
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask while handling emergency events
  • Current Standard First Aid & CPR qualifications
