Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Unit Support Specialist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Unit Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient care and provide basic supportive care as directed by the healthcare team.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Provide administrative support to the healthcare team, including data entry and record-keeping.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous patient care experience.
  • Knowledge of the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) and Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions).
  • Ability to speak an Indigenous language and/or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
Working Conditions

This is a term position with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
