We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Unit Support Specialist to join our team at Health Sciences Centre. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide essential support to patients and staff, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of our unit.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient care and provide basic supportive care as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to maintain a safe and respectful environment for patients and staff.
- Perform various administrative tasks, such as data entry and record-keeping, to support the efficient operation of the unit.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in patient care and healthcare procedures.
- Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required.
- Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting, as well as the ability to work in a variety of environments, including patient care areas and administrative offices.
- Previous patient care experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of healthcare procedures and protocols, including infection control and patient safety.
- Ability to speak an Indigenous language and/or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
