Role Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in two primary areas: Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations and the design and construction of machinery. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, prototyping, and validation of essential components for our nanotechnology platforms. We seek an individual with a proven track record of guiding projects from initial concept through to production, collaborating closely with our team to validate and scale our innovative solutions for market readiness.

  • Perform CFD simulations and kinetic analyses to enhance design efficiency
  • Design and construct prototypes to evaluate and improve the technology
  • Create and develop intricate precision mechanical components, including assembly and necessary documentation
  • Collaborate with suppliers on manufacturing processes and material selection
  • Establish experiments to confirm the functionality of prototypes
  • Transfer optimized designs to manufacturing partners for production
  • Conduct Design of Experiments to facilitate the scaling of technology from laboratory to commercial applications
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to junior engineering personnel
  • Ensure designs are tailored for manufacturability and commercial production

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree or technical diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer
  • 5-8 years of experience in mechanical system/product design within an R&D environment
  • Expertise in CFD, kinetics, prototyping, and experimental design
  • Demonstrated ability to transition technologies from laboratory settings to commercial viability
  • Strong skills in communication, problem-solving, and project management
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing partners
  • Proficient in designing for both conventional precision machining and additive manufacturing, with a creative approach to rapid prototyping methods
