Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our community mental health team, you will provide specialized occupational therapy services to clients in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' functional capacity, occupational performance, and environmental supports to inform treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide direct and indirect services, including group and individual interventions, to promote clients' occupational performance and independence.
  • Collaborate with community agencies and services to ensure a coordinated approach to service provision and effective use of resources.
  • Act as a consultant and resource to community agencies and services on psychosocial rehabilitation practices and strategies.
  • Supervise occupational therapy students as required.
Requirements
  • Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
  • Two years' recent related experience working in a community mental health and/or substance use setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid B.C. Class V Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of current psychiatric rehabilitation, psychosocial approaches, and recovery practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the major categories of mental illness and substance use and their appropriate rehabilitation treatments.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to use activity analysis to assess occupational performance and modify the activity, environment, or supports to enable occupation.
  • Ability to utilize outcome measurement tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership and presentation skills.
