Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide occupational therapy services to clients with acute, rehabilitative, chronic, or palliative health care needs in community-based settings. You will assess clients' cognitive, perceptual, self-care, physical, and leisure status, and develop personalized care plans to promote functional independence and occupational performance. Responsibilities • Provide occupational therapy services to referred clients through assessment, consultation, and interventions that promote functional independence and occupational performance • Collaborate with clients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to formulate treatment goals and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans • Identify environmental barriers in the home and make recommendations for modifications to ensure access for clients with disabilities • Prescribe and recommend specialized and adaptive aids and equipment to clients for activities of daily living • Educate clients, families, caregivers, and staff through individual and/or group sessions on independent living skills and occupational performance • Coordinate rehabilitative services with clients and other health service providers as needed • Act as a client advocate by providing information and liaising with funding agencies and community resources • Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities by assisting with the development, evaluation, and monitoring of policies, procedures, and standards related to occupational therapy Qualifications • Current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC and eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists • Two (2) years' recent, related clinical experience in a community or home health setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience • Valid BC Driver's License and access to personal vehicle for business-related purposes About Fraser Health Fraser Health is a leading healthcare organization that provides comprehensive services to nearly two million people in 20 diverse communities.
