About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Active Homes Ltd. As an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the general public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and Mitigate Hazards

Conduct thorough investigations into workplace accidents, illnesses, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Develop and Implement Safety Programs

Design and implement effective safety programs to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses, including training, inspections, and monitoring.

Conduct Workplace Inspections

Regularly inspect workplaces to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Provide Training and Support

Develop and deliver training programs to employees on health and safety procedures, best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with Stakeholders

Work closely with employees, management, and external stakeholders to promote a culture of health and safety and ensure effective communication.

Requirements
  • Education

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.

Experience

2 years to less than 3 years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in a similar industry.

Certifications

Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors Certificate.

Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. Proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
