We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Tool Crib Attendant to join our team at Grainger. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized tool crib, ensuring accurate inventory levels, and providing exceptional customer service to our internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the tool crib, including restocking shelves, counting inventory, and labeling products.
  • Deliver goods and put away in VMI areas of the facility, including vending equipment.
  • Use and maintain information systems for tracking inventory and cycle counting.
  • Ensure the tool crib area is secure and only authorized personnel have access.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including health and safety policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Support the Grainger Quality System.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • General tool knowledge is mandatory.
  • Shipping/receiving department and/or working with tools and industrial supplies preferred.
  • Experience in customer service and sales preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and housekeeping skills.
  • Strong proficiency in the English language - both written and oral communication.
  • Must have a winning attitude that makes the team better.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proven skills in accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while also contributing to a positive team environment.
  • General knowledge of computers, including inventory management programs and Microsoft Word programs.
  • Proven telephone etiquette.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work at other locations for coverage purposes as needed.
  • Ability to work shift work, including nights and weekends, and 12-hour shifts.
