Tool Crib Attendant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Tool Crib Attendant to join our team at Grainger. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized tool crib, ensuring accurate inventory levels, and providing exceptional customer service to our internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the tool crib, including restocking shelves, counting inventory, and labeling products.
- Deliver goods and put away in VMI areas of the facility, including vending equipment.
- Use and maintain information systems for tracking inventory and cycle counting.
- Ensure the tool crib area is secure and only authorized personnel have access.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including health and safety policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Support the Grainger Quality System.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent experience required.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- General tool knowledge is mandatory.
- Shipping/receiving department and/or working with tools and industrial supplies preferred.
- Experience in customer service and sales preferred.
- Excellent organizational and housekeeping skills.
- Strong proficiency in the English language - both written and oral communication.
- Must have a winning attitude that makes the team better.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proven skills in accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while also contributing to a positive team environment.
- General knowledge of computers, including inventory management programs and Microsoft Word programs.
- Proven telephone etiquette.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work at other locations for coverage purposes as needed.
- Ability to work shift work, including nights and weekends, and 12-hour shifts.
