About the Role

The Director of Engineering will lead the Engineering department at Avmax Careers - Canada, overseeing the development and implementation of engineering solutions to meet the company's strategic objectives.

This role requires a strong technical background in aircraft modification and maintenance, with experience in managing teams and projects. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with colleagues, regulators, customers, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies to support business growth and expansion
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians to ensure efficient and effective project delivery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize engineering projects and initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and vendors
Requirements
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in aircraft modification and/or maintenance
  • 5 years of related aviation management experience preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of the aviation modification business
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred; Advanced degree in a related field (Masters, MBA, etc.) is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
