FPGA Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA Design Engineer to contribute to the development of innovative electronic hardware systems at Aversan Inc.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires the design and implementation of complex digital and analog circuits in a collaborative team environment. The successful candidate will report to the Hardware Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

  • Conducting thorough lab tests, including component characterization and testing, and generating detailed reports on the results.
  • Designing and verifying FPGAs using Verilog/VHDL, with a focus on optimizing code to minimize resources and improve system performance.
  • Verifying FPGAs using the latest tools and debugging issues on the hardware platform.
  • Developing and implementing micro-architecture and design details for new product features, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Implementing physical designs in FPGA targets, including timing closure and debug, to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Integrating processor-based SOC (System-on-Chip) designs, including ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) and FPGA targets.
Key Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience with hardware-based integration and test of ASIC/FPGA designs, with a strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design principles.
  • Professional experience with hardware-based integration and test of ASIC/FPGA designs, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • A proven record of working with ASIC/FPGA design and/or verification teams, including tracking and reporting progress to stakeholders.
  • Experience with hardware emulators, including development and implementation of test plans and self-checking and reusable testbenches.
  • Proficiency with hardware verification languages, including System Verilog and System Verilog Assertions.
  • Ability to create test plans and self-checking and reusable testbenches from scratch, with a focus on improving system reliability and performance.
  • Experience developing Functional Coverage Models and Closing Code Coverage, with a strong understanding of software development principles.
  • Revision Control Systems experience, including svn, cvs, and git.
  • Experience with Xilinx FPGA tools, including Vivado, Vitis, and HLS, as well as embedded software development and FPGA logic design using VHDL/Verilog.
  • Familiarity with Ethernet networking, data interfaces, and Xilinx architecture/platforms.
