About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Surveyor to join our team at Control Union Canada Inc. as a key member of our inspection and evaluation team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections and evaluations of marine vessels and equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Prepare detailed investigative reports of findings, including technical analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Inspect and evaluate materials and equipment to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Sample products, perform tests, and record data to verify compliance with industry standards.
  • Receive, analyze, and verify copy for accuracy, ensuring that all documentation is complete and up-to-date.
  • Inspect vessels to identify defects and provide recommendations for repair or replacement.
Requirements
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
  • Experience: 5 years or more
  • Work site environment: Outdoors
  • Work setting: Rural area, Various locations, Willing to relocate
  • Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer, Valid driver's licence, Willing to travel
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods
  • Personal suitability: Accurate, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Excellent written communication, Judgement, Organized, Reliability, Team player
