Role Overview: The Small Molecules Analytical Research and Development (SM ARD) division within Allergan provides extensive analytical support for projects in the early development stages. This team begins its involvement during the discovery phase and continues to support projects through to late-stage development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the development and validation of analytical methods.
  • Support Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) campaigns and conduct testing on large sample volumes.
  • Interface with Pilot Plant customers to address project-specific challenges.
  • Mentor and supervise junior analysts, guiding them in method development, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Document experimental activities and results in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ensuring meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with typically 5 years of experience, or a Master's Degree with typically 2 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience in analytical chromatographic chemistry, preferably in a GMP or Quality Control (QC) laboratory environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work effectively with laboratory-scale analytical equipment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional off-shift work.
  • Adaptability to changing timelines and task priorities.
