We are seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to ensure excellence in financial reporting for stakeholders and regulatory bodies, delivering accurate and timely information while adhering to the Group Reporting Manual, IFRS, and OSFI guidelines. You will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, analyzing financial statements, and developing accounting policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the timely and precise P&C-1 reporting to OSFI for insurance entities;
  • Prepare statutory financial statements for insurance entities and subsidiaries;
  • Assist with complex technical accounting issues related to IFRS standards as necessary;
  • Support the implementation and development of accounting policy documents under IFRS and Solvency II;
  • Review Aviva Group Reporting Instructions and establish quarterly, semi-annual, and annual closing procedures;
  • Coordinate the year-end reporting schedule, meetings, and deliverables;
  • Act as the primary liaison for external audit functions, preparing schedules and ensuring timely submissions;
  • Help update and implement the Financial Reporting Control Framework;
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to shareholders;
  • Prepare external agency reports and conduct initial reviews;
  • Assist in prioritizing tasks and establishing best practices within the Reporting team;
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide integrated solutions;
  • Support and mentor the Reporting team, fostering motivation and delegation;
  • Lead initiatives to streamline reporting processes through system automation;
  • Provide ad hoc project support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance;
  • CPA designation with experience in an audit firm;
  • Demonstrated expertise in IFRS, with a preference for IFRS 17 experience;
  • Experience in Property and Casualty insurance operations and regulatory reporting;
  • Strong analytical and technical skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities;
  • Ability to simplify complex analyses and recommendations;
  • Proficient in Excel;
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive approach.
