We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Business Analyst to join our Information Technology Operations Branch. This role is ideal for individuals who are self-driven and enjoy engaging with various technologies, including web applications, Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products, and tailored software solutions.

As a Business Analyst, you will leverage your technical and business acumen to support system development, maintenance, and enhancement projects. Your role will encompass daily operational tasks as well as the evaluation and review of new services and technologies proposed by vendors. You will analyze the implications of suggested modifications on existing operational systems and processes, providing insightful recommendations to ensure successful implementation and high-quality outcomes.

Reporting to the Manager, you will orchestrate deliverables from the analysis phase through to implementation. Your responsibilities will include gathering and documenting business requirements, validating design specifications, and ensuring compliance with established standards. You will also play a crucial role in researching and resolving business process and policy challenges, as well as managing communications with stakeholders, planning and executing user acceptance testing, and developing user documentation and training materials.

Your strong leadership abilities and experience collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups, combined with your proactive problem-solving skills, will be essential in delivering effective business solutions. Your organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple priorities will aid you in navigating shifting demands. Critical thinking, analytical capabilities, problem-solving, systems thinking, negotiation, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital for success in this position. This role requires an energetic approach to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, resulting in the delivery of quality services and positive business outcomes.

Minimum Recruitment Standards (MRS)

A University Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, along with a minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in an IT-focused business analyst capacity is required.

Required experience includes:

  • Project management experience
  • System development and support experience
  • IT-focused business analyst work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with data analysis, mapping, and transformation

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Over 3 years of relevant experience in a business analysis role within a large organization
  • Understanding of the system development lifecycle

The following experience is considered an asset:

  • Business Analyst and/or Project Management Certification
  • Knowledge of projects and activities within the health system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and Power Query)

Related experience or education may be considered on a one-for-one equivalency basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Work Hours
36.25 hours per week (full time)
