About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance and Procurement Manager to join our team at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. As a key member of our Corporate Services department, you will play a critical role in driving the execution of our financial strategy and related initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial plans and strategies to ensure the hospital's financial health and stability.
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial and procurement policies and procedures.
  • Manage and oversee the hospital's financial systems, including accounting, cash management, and audit functions.
  • Provide financial expertise and analysis to support innovative approaches to health system funding reform and models of care.
  • Collaborate with the hospital's auditors, Ministry of Health, and other agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, suppliers, and partners.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Procurement department to ensure effective and efficient procurement processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with an Accounting Major or equivalent.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) or actively working towards.
  • Minimum of 5 years' finance and accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Previous experience leading in a unionized environment is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial and procurement software.
  • Experience with Meditech EXPANSE is an asset.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, judgement, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with other members of the healthcare team.
