Your Opportunity:

Position Overview:

As a Registered Primary Care Paramedic, you will be responsible for the safe transport of patients who are ill or injured, whether from emergency situations or between healthcare facilities. This role involves operating emergency vehicles, assessing both the emergency scene and the condition of patients. You will have the opportunity to provide immediate care by administering basic life support, utilizing airway adjuncts, and operating semi-automated defibrillators.

In addition, you may lead a Basic Life Support team in delivering clinical assistance during patient transport or at emergency sites. Ensuring that emergency vehicles are adequately stocked and equipped is also a key responsibility.

Qualifications:

  1. Completion of an accredited Primary Care Paramedic program.
  2. Active registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics as a Primary Care Paramedic.
  3. Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
  4. A valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's License with no more than six demerits.
  5. Successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation test within the last six months.

Work Environment:

This position is classified under the Emergency Medical Services unit and is categorized as a casual/relief employee role. You will be expected to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call duties.

The salary range for this position is competitive, reflecting the responsibilities and qualifications required.
