King Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Small Animal Emergency Department or Critical Care ICU.
About the Role:We are a 60,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility located on 50 acres in King City, Ontario, and offer specialty referral, rehabilitation, and emergency services. Our team is 175 people strong, and we are committed to ensuring you have meaningful work with continuing education.
Responsibilities:- Triage incoming emergencies and assign triage status based on vitals, presenting complaints, and patient history.
- Obtain histories from pet owners and relay this to the ER DVM.
- Provide exceptional nursing care and support to hospitalized patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing treatments.
- Administer and monitor anesthesia for after-hours ER surgeries.
- Obtain and process samples using in-house diagnostic lab equipment.
- Prepare and maintain detailed medical records, including patient histories, treatment plans, and diagnostic results, using EzyVet and VetRadar.
- Communicate with pet owners to provide updates on their pet's condition.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay up to date on the latest innovations and developments in emergency and critical care.
