Position Overview:

As a Registered Primary Care Paramedic, you will be responsible for the transportation of patients who are ill or injured, whether from emergency scenes or between healthcare facilities. This role involves operating emergency vehicles, assessing both the emergency situations and the patients involved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer basic life support (BLS) interventions, including the use of airway adjuncts and semi-automated defibrillators.
  • Lead the BLS team in providing clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes.
  • Ensure that emergency vehicles are adequately stocked and equipped for operations.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  1. A completed accredited Primary Care Paramedic program.
  2. Active registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as a Primary Care Paramedic.
  3. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
  4. A valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with a clean driving record.
  5. Successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test within the specified timeframe.

This position is classified under the Emergency Medical Services unit and requires flexibility in working hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call shifts. The role is categorized as Casual/Relief with a varied shift pattern.
