Amazon Ads is on the lookout for a proactive Creative Strategist/Copywriter to join our Brand Innovation Lab (BIL) team. In this role, you will spearhead the development of distinctive campaigns for a diverse array of global brands across various advertising sectors. Collaborating with a talented team of senior art directors, program managers, and software developers, you will create groundbreaking campaigns across the entire Amazon ecosystem (including Prime Video, Twitch, Amazon Music, and more), while taking full responsibility for all copy-related tasks. Your role will involve executing projects, providing creative direction, nurturing client relationships, and advocating for Amazon Ads within the industry.

In this hybrid position, you will also devise high-level creative strategies that address business challenges, working closely with senior leadership to establish processes and best practices that benefit the wider department. Most importantly, you will foster a team culture rooted in collaboration, humility, innovation, inspiration, and accountability, while nurturing positive relationships both internally and with agency partners.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate directly with a senior team of art directors, software developers, and project managers to deliver innovative advertising campaigns and experiences for global brands.
  2. Compose all copy requirements, from headlines to body text to pitch presentations.
  3. Work independently with various internal teams, clients, and external agency partners.
  4. Guide creative disciplines beyond your primary area of expertise and provide constructive feedback throughout the creative development process.
  5. Define the creative strategy for multiple advertisers across different advertising sectors.
  6. Collaborate with and/or lead art directors, designers, program managers, developers, and content producers to create customer-centric solutions that meet advertiser objectives.
  7. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of copywriting across all formats, including digital, print, out-of-home, video, and audio scripts.
  8. Utilize strategic research and data to inform campaign concepts.
  9. Lead the development of presentations; articulate ideas and concepts to clients, agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  10. Make informed creative trade-off decisions balancing team, client, and end-customer needs.
  11. Assess and enhance current departmental processes through documentation and evaluation.
  12. Mentor and inspire fellow creatives.
Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years of copywriting experience in an agency or in-house environment, delivering exceptional creative work on campaigns across various digital and traditional platforms.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Creative Director, leading an agency or in-house team.
  • An accessible online portfolio showcasing award-winning conceptual work, business case studies, and examples of finely crafted copy across multiple advertising formats.
  • Proven ability to generate ideas for film, print, digital, out-of-home, experiential, and social media.
  • A strong enthusiasm for experimentation and innovation.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects and consistently deliver results despite competing priorities.
  • Experience in driving creative alignment with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional writing skills that demonstrate the ability to create campaign content that attracts, retains, and expands an audience.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relentlessly high creative standards and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to confidently defend creative decisions to leadership.
  • A solid understanding of creative development timelines and production processes.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial environment with diverse stakeholders and regulatory requirements.
