Amazon Ads is on the lookout for a proactive Creative Strategist/Copywriter to join our Brand Innovation Lab (BIL) team. In this role, you will spearhead the development of unique campaigns for a diverse array of global brands across various advertising sectors. Collaborating with a team of senior art directors, program managers, and software developers, you will create groundbreaking campaigns across the entire Amazon ecosystem (including Prime Video, Twitch, Amazon Music, and more), while taking full responsibility for all copywriting needs. You will execute projects, provide creative direction, nurture client relationships, expand agency networks, and advocate for Amazon Ads within the industry.
In this hybrid position, you will also formulate high-level creative strategies that address business objectives, working closely with senior leadership to establish processes and best practices that benefit the broader department. Most importantly, you will be dedicated to fostering a team culture of collaboration, humility, innovation, inspiration, and accountability, while nurturing positive relationships both internally and with external agencies.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate directly with a senior team of art directors, software developers, and project managers to produce innovative advertising campaigns and experiences for global brands.
- Craft all copy requirements, from headlines to body text to pitch presentations.
- Work independently with various internal teams, clients, and external agency partners.
- Guide creative disciplines beyond your area of expertise and provide constructive feedback throughout the creative development process.
- Define the creative strategy for multiple advertisers across diverse advertising sectors.
- Partner with and/or lead art directors, designers, program managers, developers, and content producers to create customer-centric solutions that meet advertiser goals.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of copywriting across all formats, including digital, print, out-of-home, video, and audio scripts.
- Utilize strategic research and data to inform campaign concepts.
- Lead the creation of presentations; effectively communicate ideas and concepts to clients, agencies, and internal stakeholders.
- Make informed creative trade-off decisions that balance the needs of teams, clients, and end customers.
- Assess and enhance current processes within the department through documentation and evaluation.
- Mentor and inspire fellow creatives.
- 10+ years of copywriting experience in an agency or in-house environment, delivering exceptional creative work on campaigns across various digital and traditional platforms.
- 10+ years of experience as a Creative Director leading an agency or in-house team.
- An accessible online portfolio showcasing award-winning conceptual work, business case studies, and examples of meticulously crafted copy across multiple advertising formats.
- Proven ability to generate ideas for film, print, digital, out-of-home, experiential, and social media.
- A passion for experimentation and innovation.
