Job Summary:

The Child & Family Services Worker is a critical role within the Cree Nation Child Family Caring Agency, responsible for providing and administering CFS Services in accordance with the Child & Family Services Act.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of child and family functioning problems, gathering relevant information to inform case plans.
  • Develop and implement case plans for children and families, ensuring services are applied and referrals are made as necessary.
  • Manage and maintain accurate file documentation, ensuring all necessary information is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Perform case monitoring, risk assessment, and follow-up activities to ensure the well-being of children in care and their families.
  • Provide case management and support services to children and families, including crisis intervention and problem-solving.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Child and Family Services, with a strong understanding of child development, family-centered service, early intervention, family support, and community-based services.
  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or related undergraduate degree in Human Services (preferred).
  • Ability to converse fluently in Cree (preferred).
  • Excellent assessment, intervention, and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act and provincial standards.
  • Proficiency in using various computer applications, including CFSIS and FACTS.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must pass a criminal records check, child abuse, and prior check.
  • Cannot be active on a protection case.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality.
  • Varied amounts of travel required.
  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver's license.
  • Must be able to provide own vehicle for work.
  • Other duties related to the position may be assigned.
