Job Title: Direct Service Worker

At Southeast Child Family Services, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Service Worker to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing protection and prevention services to the children and families of our designated Southeast First Nation community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide protection and prevention services to children and families, including case management and support.
  • Manage caseloads specific to Family Protection and Children-In-Care, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community resources to support clients and team members.
  • Facilitate group work, team building, and decision-making, while taking initiative, problem-solving, and leading meetings.
  • Develop and maintain strong documentation skills, including CFSIS and IM.
  • Work collaboratively in a team-based environment, with a focus on independent responsibilities and flexible work arrangements.
  • Participate in agency events, training, and flexible hours as required.
  • Travel to designated First Nations communities and rural areas as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Social Work (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum one year of experience in front-line case management with Children-in-Care and families.
  • Experience conducting investigations, gathering and analyzing information, and implementing appropriate actions.
  • Strong knowledge of Indigenous culture, the Child and Family Services Act, and Indigenous child welfare practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, CFSIS, and IM.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record, Child Abuse Registry, and Prior Contact Check.
