Job Title: Direct Service Worker

At Southeast Child Family Services, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Service Worker to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing protection and prevention services to the children and families of the designated Southeast First Nation community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide protection and prevention services to children and families, including case management and support.
  • Manage caseloads specific to Family Protection and Children-In-Care with prescribed timelines.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community resources for clients and team members.
  • Facilitate group work, team building, and decision-making, as well as provide leadership and support to colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and detailed case files, including documentation and reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and community partners to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Travel to designated First Nations communities and rural areas as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Social Work (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum one year experience in front-line case management with Children-in-Care and families.
  • Experience conducting investigations, including gathering and analyzing information to implement appropriate action.
  • Working knowledge of Indigenous culture and rural cultural environment, as well as relevant legislation and policies.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record, Child Abuse Registry, and Prior Contact Check.
