Position Overview:

Brandt is seeking a highly skilled Senior Traffic Manager to oversee our international logistics operations. Reporting directly to the Director of Traffic, this role is pivotal in managing the daily functions of the Traffic Department, ensuring efficient and compliant transportation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and establish agreements with freight forwarders across all trade lanes.
  • Assess and enhance the performance, pricing, and communication of freight partners.
  • Develop effective strategies to ensure timely deliveries and optimal carrier selection.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Create long-term agreements to streamline freight movements and assist in departmental budgeting.
  • Provide oversight and support for Setup and Setup crews.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and manufacturing to align shipment timelines with market realities.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of all carriers, ensuring compliance with cargo insurance and other requirements.
  • Identify and resolve issues within the traffic booking process, escalating as necessary.
  • Review outstanding insurance claims and incidents, providing recommendations for resolution.
  • Perform ongoing analysis to establish reliable metrics for supplier performance evaluation.
  • Evaluate LTL and courier services to determine the best overall value for Brandt.
  • Represent the Traffic Department in cross-functional projects within the organization.
  • Assist with freight booking as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5+ years of management experience in logistics or supply chain operations.
  • Familiarity with Customs, DOT, and international shipping regulations is advantageous.
  • Proficient in ERP systems, TMS, and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
