Position Overview:

Brandt is seeking a highly skilled Senior Traffic Manager to oversee our international Traffic Department. This role involves direct reporting to the Director of Traffic and encompasses the management of daily operations, including carrier evaluations, oversight of insurance claims, and provision of analytical support to the Traffic Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate contracts with freight forwarders across all trade routes.
  • Assess the performance and pricing of freight services, ensuring effective communication with providers.
  • Develop strategies to guarantee timely deliveries and select carriers that offer the best overall value.
  • Establish and maintain robust relationships with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Formulate long-term agreements to streamline freight operations and negotiate budget-friendly costs.
  • Provide guidance and management for Setup and associated teams.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and manufacturing to align shipment timelines with market realities.
  • Supervise carrier evaluations, ensuring compliance with cargo insurance and other necessary qualifications.
  • Identify and resolve issues within the traffic booking process, escalating significant concerns to the Director of Traffic.
  • Review pending insurance claims and incidents involving carriers, providing recommendations for swift resolutions.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to establish reliable metrics for supplier performance.
  • Evaluate all Less Than Truckload (LTL) and courier services to determine the best value for Brandt.
  • Represent the Traffic Department in cross-functional projects within the organization.
  • Assist with freight bookings as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5+ years of management experience in logistics or supply chain operations.
  • Familiarity with Customs, DOT, and international shipping regulations is advantageous.
  • Proficient in ERP systems, TMS, and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
