Position Overview

Grass Home Ltd is seeking a Special Care Worker to provide essential support to individuals in need. This role is vital in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our clients.

Employment Details
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 32 to 40 hours per week
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: Previous experience is an asset
Work Environment
  • Urban area
  • Healthcare facilities including hospitals and nursing homes
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with personal hygiene and grooming of clients
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure and temperature
  • Serve meals and assist clients with eating
  • Help in moving and positioning clients safely
  • Deliver important messages and documents between departments
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of client rooms
  • Administer prescribed treatments and medications
  • Transport clients using wheelchairs or stretchers
  • Respond to client needs promptly
  • Collect medical specimens as required
  • Provide first aid in emergencies
Qualifications
  • Continuing Care Assistant Certification
  • First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Nursing Aide Certification
  • Health Care Aide Certification
Safety and Security
  • Basic security clearance is required
  • Criminal record check and Child Abuse Registry check
  • Up-to-date immunization records
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks
  • Physically demanding role requiring manual dexterity
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Involves a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Must be able to lift and move more than 45 kg (100 lbs)
