The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled and experienced National Certified Air Attack Officer to join our team in the management of aerial wildland fire operations. As a key member of our wildfire suppression program, you will play a critical role in directing and controlling air operations to ensure effective and safe response to wildland fire events.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and control air operations to ensure effective and safe response to wildland fire events
- Provide specialized expertise and technical support for directing, coordinating, and controlling air attack operations
- Ensure aviation and operational support functions are maintained
- Support daily operations of the program
- Work directly with aircrew of the airtanker group and regional and territorial wildfire operations staff to ensure airtanker group response requirements are met
- Diploma in Environment and Natural Resources Technology or Forest Technology
- Five seasons of ground-related firefighting experience
- Three seasons in aerial wildfire management
- Current National Certified Air Attack Officer qualification
- Communications Canada Radio Operators License
- Valid Canadian Passport
- Competitive salary starting at $44.83 per hour
- Northern Allowance of $1.89 per hour
