Job Summary

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled National Certified Air Attack Officer to join our team. As a key member of our aerial operations team, you will play a critical role in directing and controlling air attack operations to ensure effective wildland fire management and suppression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and control air attack operations to ensure effective wildland fire management and suppression
  • Provide specialized expertise and technical support for directing, coordinating, and controlling air attack operations
  • Ensure aviation and operational support functions are maintained
  • Support daily operations of the program
  • Work directly with aircrew of the airtanker group and regional and territorial wildfire operations staff to ensure airtanker group response requirements are met
Requirements
  • Diploma in Environment and Natural Resources Technology or Forest Technology
  • Five seasons of ground-related firefighting experience
  • Three seasons in aerial wildfire management
  • Current National Certified Air Attack Officer qualifications
  • Communications Canada Radio Operators License
  • Valid Canadian Passport
