Job Title: Chief Medical Executive

Chebucto Links is a not-for-profit registered charitable organization that provides community-based and virtual programs and services to enhance the quality of life of community dwelling seniors in Nova Scotia.

Job Summary:

The Chief Medical Executive will lead the organization's vision and mission, overseeing all aspects of its work, including Board relations, operational and financial management, communications, fundraising, and community development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage staff as outlined in Chebucto Links' personnel policies.
  • Promote the work, programs, and services of the organization to the community and to funders; maintain social media presence.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with other professional and social service organizations, funding bodies, and community partners.
  • Provide policy recommendations to the Board of Directors.
  • Advocate for senior issues and benefits and represent the organization at various community meetings and activities.
  • Perform administrative duties as required to ensure the effective operation of the organization.
Requirements:
  • A university degree or diploma in a relevant field.
  • Strong management skills in leading and managing others, financial management, strategic planning, human resources, and information management.
  • Demonstrated interest in working with older adults.
  • An ability to build and nurture constructive relationships with government, donors, funding partners, other non-profit and voluntary sector leaders, media, staff, volunteers, and the community at large.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office products and a working knowledge of digital/social media marketing.
  • Experience working directly with older adults and possessing a working knowledge of issues related to aging would be considered strong assets.

This is a full-time position based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The typical work week is 35 hours from Monday-Friday; however, some evening or weekend work may be required.
