About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in delivering planned education programs that cater to the diverse needs of Aboriginal and Islander students.
  • Develop and implement educational programs that promote cultural awareness and understanding.
  • Act as a liaison between the community and school to ensure that educational programs are relevant and effective.
  • Provide pastoral care and mentoring to Aboriginal and Islander students, particularly those at risk.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement behavior management programs.
Requirements
  • Aboriginality is considered essential for this position.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights.
  • Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before commencing employment.
  • Consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
