Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in delivering planned education programs that cater to the diverse needs of Aboriginal and Islander students.
- Develop and implement educational programs that promote cultural awareness and understanding.
- Act as a liaison between the community and school to ensure that educational programs are relevant and effective.
- Provide pastoral care and mentoring to Aboriginal and Islander students, particularly those at risk.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement behavior management programs.
- Aboriginality is considered essential for this position.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights.
- Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before commencing employment.
- Consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
- Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to a school-level team.
- Demonstrated ability to provide multicultural direction in the development of educational programs.
- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers in implementing educational and behavior management programs.
- Demonstrated good organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well-being of students.
