Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver strategic plans and work plans related to fish population and habitat management, and species at risk conservation and recovery at regional and provincial scales.
  • Apply sound scientific knowledge and resource management skills to inform cumulative effects assessment and management, and support the department's integrated resource management programs.
  • Contribute to provincial, regional, and sub-regional environmental and natural resource plans, procedures, objectives, thresholds, and actions.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading diverse and complex programs and teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder relations and consultation skills, with the ability to balance competing interests.
  • Sound scientific knowledge and resource management skills, with experience in fish population and habitat management, and species at risk conservation and recovery.

Working Environment

The Fisheries Manager will work in an integrated delivery environment, leading diverse and complex programs and teams, and will be responsible for providing leadership to staff across the province.
