We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join our team in the Real Estate Division of the Nova Scotia Department of Public Works. As a Paralegal, you will play a critical role in providing technical and legal services to support the acquisition and disposal of real estate.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and draft legal documents to support real property transactions, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, and easements.
- Conduct property title investigations, research property records, and search legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage and coordinate submissions to the land registry for recording land registration instruments and coordinate with the land registry on mapping requirements.
- Provide technical legal support to internal and external legal counsel, management, and staff on real estate matters.
- Manage real property databases and ensure proper file management for real property transactions.
To be successful in this role, you will require a strong understanding of property and commercial law, as well as applicable legislation, including the Land Registration Act. You will also need to have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
