About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Crane Service Technician to join our team at GD Crane Electrical Service Ltd. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our overhead cranes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and Inspect Equipment

You will be responsible for identifying and resolving faults and malfunctions in our overhead cranes, using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.

Order and Maintain Inventory

You will be responsible for ordering parts and maintaining an inventory of spare parts to ensure that our cranes are always operational.

Adjust and Repair Equipment

You will be responsible for adjusting and repairing defective parts, and ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and functioning within manufacturer specifications.

Keep Maintenance Records

You will be responsible for keeping accurate records of maintenance activities, including test results and repair history.

Test and Inspect Repaired Equipment

You will be responsible for testing and inspecting repaired equipment to ensure that it meets manufacturer specifications and is safe for operation.

Perform Routine Maintenance

You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and performing other maintenance work as required.

Requirements
  • Education

A secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.

Experience

At least 7 months of experience in a related field is required.

Certifications and Licenses

A Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate and Fall Arrest Protection Training Course are required.

Physical Demands

The ability to lift and move heavy equipment, and to work at heights, is required.

Language

Fluency in English is required.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on safety and quality. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
