Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Crane Service Technician to join our team at GD Crane Electrical Service Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our overhead cranes and other heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and Inspect Equipment

The Crane Service Technician will be responsible for identifying and resolving issues with our overhead cranes and other heavy equipment. This will involve conducting regular inspections to detect faults and malfunctions, and using computerized testing equipment to diagnose the extent of the problem.

Order Parts and Maintain Inventory

The successful candidate will be responsible for ordering replacement parts and maintaining an accurate inventory of our equipment and supplies.

Adjust and Repair Equipment

The Crane Service Technician will be responsible for adjusting and repairing our overhead cranes and other heavy equipment to ensure they are functioning properly and safely.

Keep Maintenance Records

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed on our equipment.

Test and Inspect Repaired Equipment

The Crane Service Technician will be responsible for testing and inspecting all repaired equipment to ensure it meets our quality standards.

Perform Routine Maintenance

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating our equipment, to ensure it continues to operate safely and efficiently.

Requirements
  • Education

A secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.

Experience

At least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field is required.

Certifications and Training

The successful candidate will be required to hold a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate and have completed a Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.

Equipment and Machinery Experience

Experience with hoists or winches and cranes is required.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift and move heavy equipment.

Personal Suitability

The successful candidate will be required to be accurate, reliable, a team player, organized, and able to work in a team environment.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week in a fast-paced environment.

Language

The working language is English.
