Project Coordinator

At Bird Construction, we are seeking a highly motivated and organized Project Coordinator to join our team. As a Project Coordinator, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects, working closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all production requirements, including safety, quality, administration, scheduling, cost controls, client/sub-contractor/craft communication and management.
  • Assist with major construction projects, including liaison with Owners, Consulting Engineers and Subcontractors.
  • Support the preparation and execution of overall work plan and schedule.
  • Review and process shop drawings.
  • Coordinate material and equipment needs.
  • Prepare weekly productivity and cost tracking.
  • Prepare cost estimates for change orders and audit purposes.
  • Price site instructions, work orders and change notices.
  • Assist with quality assurance and management of client expectations.
  • Prepare monthly progress application and expedite payments.
  • Provide document turnover to client at completion of project.
  • Assist with maintenance of project files and preparation of reports.
  • Participate in on-site safety meetings and lead safety initiatives.
  • Foster and maintain positive relations and communication with clients, consultants, architects, and subcontractors.
Requirements:
  • Graduated from a Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management program within the last 24-months.
  • Some experience in civil, construction, or project management would be an asset.
  • Highly motivated and able to complete assignments with minimal direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of standard health, safety, and environmental requirements and practices in the construction industry.
  • Driver's license and able to operate a motor vehicle required.
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment.
  • Effective and efficient problem-solving and decision-making skills; thoughtful, proactive and creative.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them.
