Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Vineyard Worker to contribute to the growth and maintenance of our vineyard operations at FRIND WINERY LTD. This role is essential for ensuring the health and productivity of our grape crops.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program lasting 3 months to less than 1 year, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years to less than 3 years in a similar role.
Work Environment

The position involves working in various conditions typical of viticulture, including:

  • Wet and damp environments
  • Dusty and hot conditions
  • Exposure to all weather conditions
  • Dirty work environments
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and managing the growth of vines, vine canopies, and grapes.
  • Planting, cultivating, and irrigating crops effectively.
  • Tying and securing plants to promote healthy growth.
  • Harvesting crops at the appropriate times.
  • Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment.
  • Training new workers in their duties and company policies.
Crops and Equipment

This role primarily focuses on:

  • Type of Crops: Grapes and vineyard plants.
  • Equipment Experience: Proficiency in operating tractors and hand tools.
Additional Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • A valid driver's license for transportation needs.
  • Experience with automated irrigation systems.
Physical Demands

The position requires:

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Working under pressure in a physically demanding environment.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling as necessary.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required.
  • Handling weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
