Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Vineyard Worker to contribute to the growth and maintenance of our vineyard at FRIND WINERY LTD. This role is essential for ensuring the health and productivity of our grape crops.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program lasting 3 months to less than 1 year, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years to less than 3 years in a related field.
Work Environment

The position involves working in various conditions typical of viticulture, including:

  • Wet and damp environments
  • Dusty and hot conditions
  • Exposure to all weather conditions
  • Dirty work settings
Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include:

  • Maintaining and managing the growth of vines, vine canopies, and grapes.
  • Planting, cultivating, and irrigating crops effectively.
  • Tying and securing plants to promote healthy growth.
  • Harvesting crops at the appropriate time.
  • Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment.
  • Training new workers on their duties and company policies.
Crops and Equipment

This role focuses on:

  • Type of Crops: Grapes and vineyard-related plants.
  • Equipment Experience: Familiarity with tractors and hand tools is essential.
Work Conditions

The job requires:

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work under pressure.
  • Physical stamina for demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods and bending, crouching, or kneeling.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Handling weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Additional Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • A valid driver's license.
  • Experience with automated irrigation systems.
