About the Role

CES Transformers is seeking a highly skilled Director of Development and Engineering to lead our engineering team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead and manage multiple engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and within budget.
  • Budget and Expenditure Planning: Develop and manage budgets for engineering projects, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control.
  • Report Preparation and Analysis: Oversee the preparation of reports and analysis of data to inform engineering project decisions.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
  • Technical Design and Engineering: Evaluate and approve technical designs and engineering work, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement policies and procedures for engineering work, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management plans to mitigate potential project risks.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews to evaluate team member performance and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Specifications and Development: Authorize the development of specifications for products or services, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in a leadership role, with a strong background in engineering and project management.
  • Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of engineers. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate technical designs and engineering work.
  • Certifications: Provincial and Territorial professional engineer registration.
  • Software and Technology: Proficient in MS Office, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and AutoCAD. Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and ANASYS.
